Episode 26: Katherine Bramhall, Founder of Gentle Landing Midwifery & U.S. President of Bumi Sehat Foundation International

Katherine Bramhall is a midwife who specializes in pregnancy, at home childbirth, postpartum, women’s sexual and reproductive health, and newborn care out of her Gentle Landing Midwifery home office in Barre Vermont. In 2004, in response to the earthquake in Bam, Iran, Katherine began her intensive years of disaster relief work, focusing on the long-term effects of trauma on family and maternal/child health systems. In addition to Iran, her relief work has taken her to Russia and Bali Indonesia, New York City, post-Katrina Louisiana and Haiti. She serves as the President of Bumi Sehat Foundation International in the US. Katherine also developed and served as the director/organizer of the student midwife program at the Bali, Indonesia birth clinic until its closure in 2014. She travels to Bali each year as a volunteer midwife, fundraiser and a US liaison.
